Getting packed for Vegas...
There will be three big announcements next week from Centric and its divisions - one a day starting Tuesday when the exhibit floors open.
For those who can't make it, there will be plenty of coverage, and some fun extras too, across all of the Centric Parts and StopTech social media channels including The StopTech Blog, The Brake Room, StopTech's Twitter and Facebook pages, plus the Centric Parts YouTube channel.
Facebook and Twitter in particular will play host to a special SEMA edition of Identify This Car. For those who have not been following along, players are tasked with being the first to name the make and model of a car based on an extreme close up picture of a single vehicle feature.
All week long the game will be played featuring cars from the trade show floor, and their will even be a special gift for the winner at the end. So hop on board now by "liking" or "following" StopTech.
For those who are feeling nostalgic for prior SEMA's, here are a StopTech's recap videos from the last two years. Last year featured StopTech's own Howard Hsia as a host, who has since moved his talents behind the camera as the producer of StopTech's popular Brake Decisions videos.

Shhhh. The Brake Room has a Secret...
Back when 2008 was drawing to a close, StopTech, the ultra performance division of Centric Parts, had only one series of Big Brake Kits. The StopTech Big Brake Kit is a great example of car stopping engineering. Several patents come together to provide shorter stopping distances and more bite from the brake pedal either on the road or track. Then SEMA 2008 rolled along and the company announced a second series of BBKs; The StopTech Trophy Big Brake Kit. These top-of-the-line offerings were designed to operate on the track only and featured ultra-lightweight calipers with an eye catching machined finish. They made their debut a few months later when StopTech CEO Dino Crescentini took them out for a qualifying run during the SCCA season opener at Sebring and landed a pole position start. What followed was a season full of victories and successes for the StopTech Trophy BBK.
When SEMA 2009 hit, the company announced a third series of BBKs. The StopTech Trophy Sport Big Brake Kits bridged the gap between the two other BBKs by bringing additions to the track-only kit such as silicone dust boots for the ultra-lightweight caliper and adjustments to the patented AeroRotors that provided a street-friendly ride for those who take their serious track vehicle on the road.
Well, as a reader of The Brake Room, you are now among the first to get a heads up that StopTech is about to do it again. The ultra-performance division of Centric Parts is about to announce its fourth series of Big Brake Kits. No need to wait until SEMA this year but you will have to hold on a little longer for the details, unless you can wrestle them out of your StopTech representative. Let's just say the new BBKs will bring StopTech performance, innovation and quality to larger number of drivers.
Check back here soon for the details!

Photo Essay: Dino's 2009 SCCA Car at SoCal event
The event was Cars & Coffee, a weekly free gathering of car enthusiasts and the cars they love and drive in Irvine California.
This was the car that Dino, who is also the CEO of Centric Parts, drove for the second half of the 2009 season in the SCCA World Challenge season.
The car he drove the first half of the season was totalled in a warmup lap midseason. This car made its premiere at Watkins Glen and was driven by Dino right to the Winner's Circle with a first place finish.

Centric Parts CEO featured on CarCast with Adam Carolla
Dino Crescentini, CEO of Centric Parts, which includes StopTech, dropped into Adam Carolla's garage to a record an episode of his popular automotive themed CarCast podcast. Click here to visit the page where you can download or stream the podcast.
Got a little extra time? Dino, who races a Porsche for GMG Racing in the SCCA World Challenge GT Series, brought by one of only about 600 Porsche Carrera GTs in the United States.
You can catch the video profile of the vehicle with Adam and Dino by clicking on this link. Highlights including Dino proving a CEO can fit in a ridiculously small supercar trunk, and Adam push starting the vehicle with his co-producer.

Los Angeles Auto Show 2010

Fans of Team StopTech recognize this Tri-Point Mazda wearing StopTech Trophy brakes driven by Eric Foss in SCCA SPEED World Challenge series.

Some might also recall that the Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR set the Nurburgring record with StopTech rotors. It also just recaptured the record up at Laguna. The 2010 makes it's debut in Los Angeles at this auto show.
Steve Saleen showed up with slew of cars from his new SMS Supercars company, which included a pair of StopTech-equipped Dodge Challengers including a 570 in yellow.
The show runs through next weekend. You can get info at http://www.laautoshow.com/.

StopTech turns virtual heads in Forza Motorsport 3
Perhaps the most common car at SEMA this year was a virtual one.
Several booths turned into arcades with playable displays of racing videogame Forza Motorsport 3 for the Microsoft Xbox 360. Whipping by too fast to notice unless you are looking for it is the StopTech logo adorning the race barriers.
One helpful reader sent this photo in...

Don't try this if you happen to spot a StopTech logo during your real track day.
Some displays went overboard with their affection for Microsoft, including this Toyota's Tacoma All-Terrain Gamer (ATG) concept which features four on board Xbox 360s...

FYI - were still editing out footage from SEMA but look for something new in the Centric Parts YouTube channel in December.
Happy Thanksgiving!
